It’s the first of month… that’s usually the time I go back and look at my alternative income from the previous month. As a refresher my definition alternative income encompasses some kind of passive component to it. It may be completely passive, like earnings from interest and dividends. The calendar flips and it’s time to reflect on my alternative income from last month. Executive summary: Not as good as last month, but more sustainable.

Due to my recent vacation, I was unable to compile numbers of my alternative from May until today. So while I typically like to get this out on the first or second day of the month, here we are in the 9th day.
Once again, my alternative income continues it’s roller coaster ride. It almost seems to want to stay in a narrow range from $1500 to $2000. This month it was up slightly to $1,543.10. As always, this is after taxes and expenses.

It’s time once again to update my Alternative Income. For the first time in a few months, I actually made more money that the previous month.

With the middle of the month comes the update to my net worth. Last month, I was very happy to break even. This month that would have been a pipe dream. With the stock market dropping, my retirement accounts nearly dropped to less than $100,000 in value. In total, my net worth dropped roughly $4,500 to finish at $208,683.

I’m a little later than usual with the report this month. The weekend threw me off and I wanted to get yesterday’s Lending Club news out. It looks like I can’t put off reporting my alternative income progress any longer.
